All on one single level which makes it very accessible for the older generation.

Gallery space is appropriate at the end of the 'journey' through the building.

Lack of exciting threshold

This iteration has a curved form arching towards the canal. This frames the view allowing a connection to outdoors throughout the program and natural light to enter each space. At one end is the cafe which spills out onto the landscaped space and a set pathway leads down to the canal. This circulation is set out for the older generation but the landscaped area is also flexible for play. Opposite, the triangular form uses mirror cladding to reflect water patterns from the canal into the interior space and around creating a calming environment. This is ideal for a gallery space. The irregular shaped program inside acts as a threshold space and activity spaces. The program is very linear for these spaces but may also be good for a community feeling.
