STRETFORD
Stretford is located at the North of the ward of Trafford and has a large community of older residents. The heart of Stretford is dominated by the very busy Kingsway/Chester Road junction which often transforms Stretford into a transitional zone rather than a destination. The main community gravitates to the existing Stretford mall, built in the 60's after the Highstreet was removed, but many residents still wish to see more positive transformations in Stretford to benefit the community. During our 'What's missing from Stretford?' event in Stretford mall, Karakter spoke to over 100 people and gathered feedback from all ages. Below are key pieces of data that I connected with and will respond to in my design.
